Digital Marketing Trends In 2014

digital marketing trends 2014

With one week into the new year, online marketers are searching for new tactics and the latest trend for the year and how they will convert “likes,” “favorites,” or “retweets” into dollar signs.
We may not have a definitive answer for these tactics or trends, but we have predicted what we think will be BIG for online marketers through 2014:

Video Marketing Expands
At the tail end of 2013, we saw a boom of video sharing content being adopted by dozens of businesses through the use of Instagram, Vine and Snapchat. We predict that brands will be adopting these social medias more frequently in the near future. Taco Bell seems to be capitalizing quite well through the use of Snapchat. We’ve already seen GE roll out ads through Instagram, and Vine makes a nice six-second commercial or brief informational how-to. The different ways that videos can be marketed now through social media can lend to unique marketing ideas springing up this year.

Social Media Across ALL Platforms
In 2013, we saw tremendous growth in brands using social media. We predict that brands will be begin to expand across social media to deliver their message. Where as Twitter serves as the headline, brands can use Facebook, Instagram, or Pinterest for the whole story. Each social media serves as a niche for customers which brands will continue to connect with across various platforms.

Content Is King
Flipboard, the ever popular “personal magazine” mobile app (that hit 3.5 million downloads last year), is proof that consumers are looking for content. And custom content at that. With that being said, custom content will be huge in 2014 and should be a part of your marketing efforts. Whether it's through blogging, vlogging or press releases, the only true way to stand out in the growing online marketplace is to be original and unique.
